China and North Korea have officially opened the New Yalu River Bridge, a long-delayed 3km structure connecting Dandong and Sinuiju. The bridge is expected to significantly enhance regional trade and collaboration between the two nations. Chinese Premier Li Qiang hailed it as a new landmark of traditional friendship, urging deeper connectivity. This new crossing aims to ease pressure on the older Sino-Korean Friendship Bridge, which currently handles over 70 percent of official bilateral trade.
