85% Water Hyacinth Cleared at Nanjarayan Bird Sanctuary Lake

An intensive 98-day operation has successfully cleared approximately 85% of invasive water hyacinth from the Nanjarayan Bird Sanctuary lake in Tirupur district. Forest department officials, supported by the VETRY Trust, are overseeing the restoration efforts. The expansion of open water has already led to the early return of various bird species, including ducks, geese, and cormorants. The VETRY Trust has pledged to provide 10 years of financial, material, and manpower support to ensure the sanctuary remains a secure habitat for birds.

तिरुपूर जिले में नंजरायण पक्षी अभयारण्य झील से आक्रामक जलकुंभी को हटाने के लिए 98 दिनों का एक सघन अभियान चलाया गया, जिसमें लगभग 85% जलकुंभी को सफलतापूर्वक हटा दिया गया है। वन विभाग के अधिकारी, VETRY Trust के सहयोग से, बहाली के प्रयासों की निगरानी कर रहे हैं। खुले पानी के विस्तार के कारण बत्तख, हंस और जलकाग सहित विभिन्न पक्षी प्रजातियाँ पहले ही लौट आई हैं। VETRY Trust ने अभयारण्य को पक्षियों के लिए एक सुरक्षित आवास बनाए रखने के लिए 10 वर्षों तक वित्तीय, सामग्री और जनशक्ति सहायता प्रदान करने का संकल्प लिया है।
