A major counter-intelligence operation, 'Operation Firewall-2026', has been launched across 10 states and union territories, focusing on a suspected Pakistan-linked espionage network. Eighteen individuals are under scrutiny, including 13 suspected Navy personnel. Investigators are probing alleged links between these individuals and Pakistan intelligence operatives, particularly concerning sensitive information about Indian Navy and defence establishments. Electronic devices have been seized, and preliminary evidence has emerged against two suspects. A civilian contract driver and a Navy sailor have already been arrested for allegedly passing classified information.
