A 27-year-old protester from Kerala, Fidal Royas, may require ear surgery due to severe injuries sustained during detention by Delhi police on October 11. Medical reports indicate damage to his right eardrum, possibly perforated after being hit, kicked, and slapped. Royas alleges the assault occurred after police saw him recording a video documenting violence against detainees. He had travelled to Delhi to protest and demand the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner. Doctors will determine the need for surgery within two weeks.
