Priest Brutally Murdered Over Witchcraft Suspicion; Tongue Cut Off

In an act of superstition and revenge, a priest was brutally murdered in Bihar's Katihar district. The main accused, 65-year-old Anantalal Mandal, was arrested for allegedly killing priest Hiralal Mandal. Mandal believed the priest was responsible for his six-month-old grandson's death a year prior. He, along with his sons, allegedly strangled the priest, stabbed him, cut off his tongue in the name of a tantric ritual, and then hung the body from a tree to stage it as a suicide.

अंधविश्वास और बदले की भावना से बिहार के कटिहार जिले में एक पुजारी की बेरहमी से हत्या कर दी गई। मुख्य आरोपी 65 वर्षीय अनन्तलाल मंडल को पुजारी हिरालाल मंडल की कथित हत्या के आरोप में गिरफ्तार किया गया। मंडल का मानना था कि एक साल पहले उसके छह महीने के पोते की मौत के लिए पुजारी जिम्मेदार था। उसने अपने बेटों के साथ मिलकर कथित तौर पर पुजारी का गला घोंट दिया, उसे चाकू मारा, तांत्रिक अनुष्ठान के नाम पर उसकी जीभ काट दी और फिर आत्महत्या दिखाने के लिए शव को पेड़ से लटका दिया।
