Allahabad High Court Orders UP Panchayat Elections Within Three Months

The Allahabad High Court has directed the Uttar Pradesh government and the State Election Commission to complete the panchayat elections within three months from the date of the order. The court mandated that elections proceed under the existing reservation system, requiring the OBC Commission to submit its report within one month. The court also dismissed the notion that the OBC Commission's pending report could be used to delay the polls.

इलाहाबाद हाई कोर्ट ने उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार और राज्य चुनाव आयोग को आदेश दिया है कि वे आदेश की तारीख से तीन महीने के अंदर पंचायत चुनाव पूरे करें। कोर्ट ने यह भी कहा कि मौजूदा आरक्षण व्यवस्था के तहत चुनाव कराए जाएं और ओबीसी आयोग को एक महीने के अंदर अपनी रिपोर्ट देनी होगी। कोर्ट ने इस बात को भी खारिज कर दिया कि ओबीसी आयोग की लंबित रिपोर्ट का इस्तेमाल चुनाव में देरी के लिए किया जा सकता है।
