Delhi Jal Board Approves New Rules For Easier Water Connections

DJB has approved new regulations to simplify the process of obtaining water and sewer connections, replacing the 2012 rules. Under the Delhi Water and Sewer (Tariff and Metering) Regulations, 2026, dwelling units can now get individual connections regardless of building height, provided technical conditions are met. This change is expected to benefit tenants in multi-flat buildings, allowing more than six connections if each unit has a kitchen.

दिल्ली जल बोर्ड (DJB) ने पानी और सीवर कनेक्शन लेने की प्रक्रिया को आसान बनाने के लिए नए नियम मंजूर किए हैं, जो 2012 के नियमों की जगह लेंगे। दिल्ली जल और सीवर (टैरिफ और मीटरिंग) विनियम, 2026 के तहत, तकनीकी शर्तों को पूरा करने पर आवासीय इकाइयों को इमारत की ऊंचाई की परवाह किए बिना व्यक्तिगत कनेक्शन मिल सकते हैं। इस बदलाव से बहु-मंजिला इमारतों में रहने वाले किरायेदारों को फायदा होने की उम्मीद है, क्योंकि अगर हर इकाई में किचन है तो छह से अधिक कनेक्शन की अनुमति होगी।
