Goa's paddy cultivation has been impacted by a poor monsoon, with approximately 20 hectares of fields affected so far. Crop damage has been reported across most paddy-growing talukas, affecting both lowland and upland areas. While low-lying fields have retained moisture, upland areas have seen some impact. A detailed financial assessment of the damage is pending, as farmers must submit forms for officials to conduct field inspections and calculate actual crop loss. Despite the reduced rainfall, the situation is not expected to significantly impact the upcoming rabi season.
