Powerloom Worker Dies After Falling Into Water-Filled Roadside Pit in Namakkal

A 40-year-old powerloom worker named Mohanraj died after falling into a roadside pit filled with rainwater near Tiruchengode in Namakkal district. The incident occurred late on Friday night as he was returning home in an inebriated state. Police recovered his body and sent it for a postmortem examination. Mohanraj is survived by three daughters, as his wife had separated from him years ago. Elachipalayam police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic accident.
