ED Summons Ludhiana Police Chief in Fake Cyber Report Probe

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Ludhiana Commissioner of Police Swapan Sharma for a money-laundering probe into allegedly fake forensic reports concerning a controversial video of Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann. Sharma is to appear in Chandigarh on October 19. The investigation aims to trace illicit funds allegedly paid to procure these reports. A Gurugram police FIR, filed after a cyber expert received illicit transfers, led to the arrest of two individuals. Investigators suspect involvement of Punjab officials in manufacturing fraudulent reports, prompting the ED's action.

प्रवर्तन निदेशालय (ED) ने पंजाब के CM भगवंत मान के एक विवादित वीडियो से जुड़ी कथित फर्जी फोरेंसिक रिपोर्टों की मनी-लॉन्ड्रिंग जांच के लिए लुधियाना के पुलिस कमिश्नर स्वपन शर्मा को तलब किया है। शर्मा को 19 अक्टूबर को चंडीगढ़ में पेश होना है। इस जांच का मकसद इन रिपोर्टों को हासिल करने के लिए कथित तौर पर दिए गए अवैध पैसों का पता लगाना है। एक गुरुग्राम पुलिस FIR, जो एक साइबर विशेषज्ञ को अवैध ट्रांसफर मिलने के बाद दर्ज की गई थी, के कारण दो लोगों की गिरफ्तारी हुई। जांचकर्ताओं को फर्जी रिपोर्टें तैयार करने में पंजाब के अधिकारियों की संलिप्तता का संदेह है, जिसके चलते ED ने यह कार्रवाई की है।
