IGL Launches AI Pilot Project For CNG Cylinder Hydrotesting Verification

Indraprastha Gas Ltd. (IGL) has launched an artificial intelligence-powered pilot project for cylinder hydrotesting verification at ten retail CNG stations. The technology uses station cameras to capture vehicle registration numbers, which are then processed by an AI application to check the CNG cylinder's hydrotest status. This application will be linked to the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation’s (PESO) portal. IGL plans to evaluate the pilot for expansion and explore integration with vehicle databases, following regulations that require CNG cylinders to be tested every three years.
