The Indian Railways has issued a stern warning against using mobile phones in speaker mode or speaking loudly in trains and railway premises, as it causes nuisance to other passengers. Violators will face action under Section 145 of the Railways Act. This includes removal from premises, a fine of up to ₹1,000, or imprisonment for up to six months. The Southern Railway headquarters noted that increased mobile internet access has led to more people playing audio and videos loudly.
