शुक्रवार को चित्रदुर्ग के KSRTC बस स्टैंड पर तनाव फैल गया, जब बीजेपी कार्यकर्ताओं ने राज्य सरकार के बस किराया बढ़ाने के फैसले का विरोध किया। पार्टी कार्यकर्ताओं ने आरोप लगाया कि इस बढ़ोतरी से गरीब और मध्यम वर्ग के परिवारों पर अतिरिक्त वित्तीय बोझ पड़ा है। पुलिस द्वारा शुरू में उन्हें प्रवेश करने से रोके जाने के बाद, प्रदर्शनकारियों ने बस स्टैंड में घुसकर लगभग एक घंटे तक धरना दिया और किराया बढ़ोतरी वापस लेने की मांग की। बीजेपी नेताओं ने चेतावनी दी कि अगर सरकार ने फैसले पर पुनर्विचार नहीं किया तो पूरे राज्य में विरोध प्रदर्शन किया जाएगा।
