A Vermont family dairy farm, initially 100 acres with 14 cows, has expanded to 550 acres with a strong focus on conservation. Working with the US Department of Agriculture’s NRCS, the Choinieres implemented practices to protect soil, water, and wildlife. This includes planting trees along the Rock River, establishing river corridor easements, and adopting a compost bedded pack system for manure management. These changes have enhanced the farm's productivity and resilience against severe weather.
