The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Response and Fire Services Department has granted temporary licenses for 4,226 firecracker shops across the state for the upcoming Diwali festival. A total of 4,307 traders had applied for these licenses, with the highest number of applications coming from East Godavari district. The department has introduced a simplified online system for license issuance, allowing traders to apply via WhatsApp and pay a nominal fee of ₹500. This automated process aims to be hassle-free and transparent, with licenses generated automatically upon successful payment.
