Miscreants Chop Over 400 Arecanut Saplings At Farm Near Challakere

Unidentified miscreants allegedly destroyed over 400 arecanut saplings at a farm in JJ Colony, Challakere taluk, on Tuesday night. The farmer, Swamy, stated he had been cultivating the saplings for three years and had borrowed money to do so. He was unable to visit the farm due to the Maramma festival in the village. This incident has caused distress among farmers already facing drought conditions and concerns about crop protection. Farmer organizations have urged the police to investigate and take legal action against those responsible.

मंगलवार रात को चल्लाकेरे तालुका के जेजे कॉलोनी में एक खेत में अज्ञात शरारती तत्वों ने कथित तौर पर 400 से ज़्यादा सुपारी के पौधे नष्ट कर दिए। किसान स्वामी ने बताया कि वह तीन साल से इन पौधों की खेती कर रहे थे और इसके लिए उन्होंने पैसे उधार लिए थे। गांव में मरम्मा उत्सव के कारण वह खेत नहीं जा सके थे। इस घटना से पहले से ही सूखे की मार झेल रहे किसानों में हताशा है और फसल सुरक्षा को लेकर चिंताएं बढ़ गई हैं। किसान संगठनों ने पुलिस से जांच करने और जिम्मेदार लोगों के खिलाफ कानूनी कार्रवाई करने की अपील की है।
