A Jammu and Kashmir Police SIT has filed a 1,000-page chargesheet against 15 individuals in connection with the rape and death of a 15-year-old girl in Kishtwar. Teacher Khalid Hussain is named as the prime suspect, accused of sexually exploiting the minor, leading to her death during a botched abortion attempt in August. Others accused include his brother, two doctors, hospital staff, and a pharmacy owner who allegedly helped cover up the crime. The chargesheet was filed under various acts, including the POCSO Act, and investigations are ongoing.
