Man Who Fired At Cops Gets Four Years Jail Term

An additional sessions court in Ghaziabad has sentenced Salim, also known as Gucci, to four years in prison. The sentencing follows his voluntary confession to firing at police personnel with the intent to kill. The court noted that Salim has been incarcerated, and considered his family and financial situation for a simple prison term. He was also fined Rs 1,000 under Section 307/34 of the IPC. The sentence will be adjusted against the time already spent in custody.

गाजियाबाद की एक एडिशनल सेशंस कोर्ट ने सलीम, जिसे गुच्ची के नाम से भी जाना जाता है, को चार साल की जेल की सज़ा सुनाई है। यह सज़ा पुलिसकर्मियों को जान से मारने की नीयत से गोली चलाने के अपने स्वैच्छिक इकबालिया बयान के बाद दी गई है। कोर्ट ने कहा कि सलीम पहले से ही जेल में है, और उसने उसके परिवार और आर्थिक स्थिति को ध्यान में रखते हुए एक साधारण जेल की सज़ा दी है। उस पर IPC की धारा 307/34 के तहत 1,000 रुपये का जुर्माना भी लगाया गया है। यह सज़ा उसके जेल में बिताए समय के मुकाबले एडजस्ट की जाएगी।
