Mumbai Cyber Police Bust Syndicate Supplying Malicious APK Files to Criminals

Mumbai cyber police have dismantled an online syndicate that supplied malicious APK files, disguised as RTO challans and electricity bills, to criminal gangs nationwide. These files were used to defraud victims and steal banking and debit card details. The operation began during an investigation into a Rs 27 lakh cheating case involving a shopkeeper tricked by a fake Mahanagar Gas bill update. Three individuals have been arrested, with investigations revealing links to other cases across multiple states.

मुंबई साइबर पुलिस ने एक ऑनलाइन सिंडिकेट का भंडाफोड़ किया है जो देशभर की आपराधिक गिरोहों को आरटीओ चालान और बिजली बिल के रूप में भेष बदले हुए दुर्भावनापूर्ण एपीके फाइलें सप्लाई करता था। इन फाइलों का इस्तेमाल पीड़ितों को ठगने और बैंकिंग व डेबिट कार्ड का विवरण चुराने के लिए किया जाता था। यह ऑपरेशन एक दुकानदार से जुड़े 27 लाख रुपये के धोखाधड़ी के मामले की जांच के दौरान शुरू हुआ, जिसे एक नकली महानगर गैस बिल अपडेट ने ठगा था। तीन लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया गया है, और जांच में कई राज्यों में अन्य मामलों से संबंध सामने आए हैं।
