India Needs Stronger Healthcare System By 2035
Hindustan Times · health
India faces a dual disease burden, with communicable diseases like TB and non-communicable diseases such as diabetes and heart conditions. In 2024, India accounted for 25% of global TB cases, and 63% of deaths are due to NCDs. To build a resilient health system by 2035, India must synchronously address technology, infrastructure, workforce, governance, and financing. A shift towards an eco-centric model valuing planetary health, equity, and sustainability is crucial. Integrating traditional AYUSH practices with modern diagnostics can create an affordable and sustainable healthcare model.
