Rice Diversion Scam: 56 Mills Under Scanner

Authorities are investigating a Rs 1,160 crore rice scam involving nearly 5 lakh metric tonnes of government rice meant for ethanol production. The probe aims to determine how much rice was diverted through private mills before being returned to government warehouses. Fifty-six mills and 22 ethanol plants are currently under scrutiny as investigators work to uncover the extent of the alleged diversion and potential fraud.

सरकार लगभग 5 लाख मीट्रिक टन सरकारी चावल के एक बड़े घोटाले की जांच कर रही है, जो इथेनॉल बनाने के लिए था। यह पता लगाया जा रहा है कि निजी मिलों के ज़रिए कितना चावल सरकारी गोदामों में वापस आने से पहले ही इधर-उधर कर दिया गया। इस मामले में 56 मिलें और 22 इथेनॉल प्लांट जांच के घेरे में हैं।
