Vizianagaram Collector S. Ramsundar Reddy and Superintendent of Police A.R. Damodar have announced that cash exceeding ₹10,000 will be seized at checkposts during the election period. This measure aims to prevent the circulation of unaccounted money, with seized funds to be returned only upon submission of proof of ownership. Business persons are urged to use bank transactions for their needs. Checkposts will be established across the district's routes and borders for upcoming municipal, parshad, and panchayat elections. Nearly 20,000 individuals have been bound over based on past conduct.
