Kaup Homestay Owner Reports ₹20 Lakh Damage After Cottages Vandalised

A homestay owner in Kaup, Udupi, has reported that unidentified individuals vandalised two cottages on his property, causing an estimated loss of ₹20 lakh. The owner discovered the extensive damage, including demolished walls and broken fixtures, after being alerted by a friend. He suspects the theft of air-conditioners and CCTV cameras was an attempt to destroy evidence. The owner also mentioned receiving prior death threats. Kaup police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act.

उडुपी के कौप में एक होमस्टे मालिक ने बताया है कि अज्ञात लोगों ने उसकी प्रॉपर्टी पर दो कुटीरों में तोड़फोड़ की, जिससे करीब ₹20 लाख का नुकसान हुआ है। मालिक को एक दोस्त से सूचना मिलने के बाद बड़े पैमाने पर हुई बर्बादी का पता चला, जिसमें दीवारें गिरा दी गईं और फिक्स्चर तोड़ दिए गए। उसे शक है कि एयर कंडीशनर और सीसीटीवी कैमरे की चोरी सबूत मिटाने की कोशिश थी। मालिक ने यह भी बताया कि उसे पहले भी जान से मारने की धमकी मिली थी। कौप पुलिस ने भारतीय न्याय संहिता और सार्वजनिक संपत्ति को नुकसान की रोकथाम अधिनियम की संबंधित धाराओं के तहत मामला दर्ज किया है।
