Singapore's US Stock Trading Initiative Sees Slow Start

Singapore's attempt to offer US stock trading during Asian hours has begun slowly, with low investor volumes. Launched in July, the Singapore Depository Receipts (SDR) program initially featured Grab, Sea Ltd, and SpaceX. Trading in SpaceX SDRs reached only $2.3 million by September 18, a tiny fraction of its US trading volume. This initiative aims to deepen Singapore's equities market but faces challenges from competing products and the global trend towards 24-hour trading.
