Kolkata traffic police are introducing real-time information displays to alert motorists about congestion on the Maa flyover. Portable variable message signs will be placed at strategic locations starting Monday, providing alerts like 'Vehicle breakdown ahead' or 'Road Clear'. This initiative aims to help drivers avoid traffic jams before entering the elevated corridor. Additionally, the number of median cuts on the Maa flyover has been doubled from three to six to facilitate faster towing of broken-down vehicles, which are identified as the primary cause of congestion.
