A police officer was struck by a Molotov cocktail during violent clashes in Paris on Saturday, as demonstrations over living costs and public services escalated. The interior ministry reported 565 arrests nationwide, with four officers and one gendarme injured in Paris, three from Molotov cocktail burns. Interior minister Laurent Nuñez condemned the "extraordinary" violence, calling the attack on the officer "attempted murder." Protests, involving students and trade unions, also turned violent in other French cities like Lyon and Toulouse, and spread to Germany.
