Wheat Straw Waste Transformed into Acne Treatment Gel Using Nanotechnology

News18 Hindi · india

A student at CSJMU in Kanpur has developed a novel gel for acne treatment using wheat straw waste. Subrat Pandey extracted lignin from the straw, converted it into nanoparticles, and combined it with postbiotics in an aloe vera-based gel. Laboratory tests demonstrated the gel's ability to control the growth of key acne-causing bacteria. This innovative approach aims to provide an alternative to antibiotics, utilizing nanotechnology and postbiotics for skin health. The research focuses on repurposing agricultural residue into valuable biomaterials.
