राहुल गांधी ने कांग्रेस के छात्र संगठन एनएसयूआई से कॉलेजों और विश्वविद्यालयों में अपनी मौजूदगी बढ़ाने को कहा है, जिसका मकसद शैक्षणिक संस्थानों में RSS के प्रभाव का मुकाबला करना है। यह निर्देश एनएसयूआई के हालिया दिल्ली यूनिवर्सिटी स्टूडेंट्स यूनियन चुनावों में कोई भी शीर्ष पद जीतने में विफल रहने के बाद आया, जिसमें एबीवीपी ने तीन पद हासिल किए थे। गांधी ने एनएसयूआई नेताओं, जिनमें कन्हैया कुमार भी शामिल थे, से मुलाकात कर चुनाव परिणामों की समीक्षा की और परिसरों के साथ मजबूत जुड़ाव की आवश्यकता पर जोर दिया। ध्यान संगठन को मजबूत करने और गिरते शैक्षिक मानकों के बारे में चिंताओं को दूर करने पर है।
