UAE to hide data center locations from threats

The UAE will overhaul its data center regulations, halting public disclosure of physical locations to protect them from military threats. Minister Omar Sultan Al Olama stated data centers are now more critical than roads or bridges due to reliance on connected devices. This strategic shift follows recent regional conflicts where the UAE faced over 1,000 projectiles and drones. The nation is decentralizing digital assets and investing in offshore facilities, with the minister.

संयुक्त अरब अमीरात (UAE) अपने डेटा सेंटर नियमों में बड़ा बदलाव कर रहा है। अब डेटा सेंटरों के असली ठिकाने सार्वजनिक नहीं किए जाएंगे, ताकि उन्हें सैन्य हमलों से बचाया जा सके। मंत्री ओमर सुल्तान अल ओलामा ने कहा कि आजकल डेटा सेंटर सड़कों या पुलों से भी ज़्यादा ज़रूरी हो गए हैं। यह कदम हाल के क्षेत्रीय संघर्षों के बाद उठाया गया है, जब UAE को 1,000 से ज़्यादा मिसाइलों और ड्रोनों का सामना करना पड़ा था।
