Munnar Traffic Ban Extended For Two Weeks After Fresh Landslip

Traffic on the Kochi–Dhanushkodi National Highway in Munnar remains banned for another two weeks following a second major landslip at Karadippara. The initial landslip occurred last Monday during highway-widening work, prompting a suspension of traffic. While clearing operations were underway, a significant amount of rock and debris fell onto the road on Friday, damaging a retaining wall. Authorities have directed the NHAI to expedite repairs, including rebuilding the damaged wall, before traffic can resume on the affected Adimaly–Munnar stretch.

इडक्की जिले के मुन्नार में कोच्चि-धनकुडी नेशनल हाईवे पर एक और बड़े भूस्खलन के बाद, कराडीपारा में यातायात पर दो हफ़्ते का प्रतिबंध बढ़ा दिया गया है। पिछले सोमवार को हाईवे चौड़ा करने के काम के दौरान पहले भूस्खलन के बाद यातायात निलंबित कर दिया गया था। मलबा हटाने का काम चल रहा था, तभी शुक्रवार को भारी मात्रा में चट्टानें और मलबा सड़क पर गिर गया, जिससे एक रिटेनिंग वॉल क्षतिग्रस्त हो गई। अधिकारियों ने NHAI को निर्देश दिया है कि यातायात फिर से शुरू होने से पहले, क्षतिग्रस्त दीवार के पुनर्निर्माण सहित मरम्मत का काम तेज़ी से पूरा किया जाए।
