3D-Printed Bridge Inspired by Leonardo da Vinci Uses Waste Stone

Times of India · technology

A modern prototype pedestrian bridge, inspired by a Leonardo da Vinci sketch from over 500 years ago, has been created using 3D printing technology and waste materials. The structure, spanning approximately 6 meters, is composed of 13 printed blocks made from a mortar incorporating 30% waste stone and marble powders. This innovative approach combines additive manufacturing with Da Vinci's original vision for a self-supporting design. The project demonstrates a sustainable method for utilizing construction waste, transforming it into a valuable building material.
