Karnataka HC Orders Enquiry Into Surfer Selection

The Karnataka High Court has ordered a high-level inquiry into procedural lapses in the selection of surfers for the Asian Games 2026. A retired Supreme Court judge, R.V. Raveendran, will head the one-man commission. The court found violations of selection norms by the Surfing Federation of India but did not alter the final list of selected athletes to avoid prejudice. Surfer Ramesh Budihal had challenged his exclusion from the main contingent.

कर्नाटक हाई कोर्ट ने एशियन गेम्स 2026 के लिए सर्फर्स के चयन में हुई गड़बड़ियों की जांच का आदेश दिया है। रिटायर्ड सुप्रीम कोर्ट जज आर.वी. रवींद्रन इस एक-सदस्यीय आयोग की अध्यक्षता करेंगे। कोर्ट ने Surfing Federation of India द्वारा चयन नियमों के उल्लंघन को पाया, लेकिन खिलाड़ियों को नुकसान से बचाने के लिए अंतिम सूची में बदलाव नहीं किया। रमेश बुदिहाल ने मुख्य दल से बाहर किए जाने को चुनौती दी थी।
