Ethiopia's ancient Jewish community, known as Beta Israel, faces an uncertain future as many still dream of immigrating to Israel. This community, rumoured to be descendants of the Queen of Sheba, faced persecution under a Communist regime. Israel previously conducted major airlifts, Operation Solomon and Operation Moses, evacuating over 20,000 Ethiopian Jews between the 1970s and 1990s. However, thousands were left behind and continue to hope for a chance to join their brethren in Israel.
