Patna HC Cancels Bail, Citing False Claims Made To Sessions Court

The Patna High Court has revoked the bail granted to a man accused of abetting a woman's suicide. The accused had secured bail from a sessions court by falsely claiming the high court had permitted him to renew his plea. The high court stated that a lower court cannot grant bail on the same grounds previously rejected by a superior court. The accused's bail pleas were initially rejected by both the sessions court and the high court before he obtained it through misrepresentation.

पटना हाईकोर्ट ने एक महिला की आत्महत्या के लिए उकसाने के आरोपी को दी गई जमानत रद्द कर दी है। आरोपी ने सेशन कोर्ट से यह झूठा दावा करके जमानत हासिल की थी कि हाईकोर्ट ने उसे अपनी याचिका नवीनीकृत करने की अनुमति दी थी। हाईकोर्ट ने कहा कि निचली अदालत उसी आधार पर जमानत नहीं दे सकती जिसे पहले किसी वरिष्ठ अदालत ने खारिज कर दिया हो। आरोपी की जमानत याचिकाएं पहले सेशन कोर्ट और हाईकोर्ट दोनों ने खारिज कर दी थीं, इससे पहले कि वह गलत बयानी के जरिए जमानत प्राप्त कर सके।
