A former senior CIA official, David Rush, has pleaded guilty to fraud after being arrested with hundreds of gold bars worth over $45 million. Prosecutors stated Rush created a fictitious classified program to obtain government funds, embezzling $193 million for personal use. He used the money to buy gold, watches, jewelry, vehicles, and luxury properties. Rush also transmitted top-secret national defense information to a foreign official in 2025. He faces a maximum of 20 years in prison and will be sentenced on January 28.
