A couple in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, allegedly sold their infant for ₹1.2 lakh, using the money to buy mobile phones and gold. The baby was subsequently resold multiple times, eventually reaching Hyderabad. Police have rescued the infant and placed them in an orphanage. Seven individuals, including the biological parents and intermediaries involved in the sale and resales, have been arrested. The investigation revealed the infant changed hands three more times after the initial transaction, with significant profits made at each stage.
