Odisha Police Urge Probe Into Allegations of Retired IPS Officers Using Personnel for Menial Work

Times of India · politics

Calls are mounting within the Odisha police for an inquiry into allegations that retired Indian Police Service officers are using lower-rank personnel for household chores. Several police personnel, speaking anonymously, have urged the state government to investigate and take action if the claims are substantiated. They argue that retired IPS officers, who receive high salaries and pensions, should arrange their own domestic help. While a former DGP had previously cautioned against such unauthorized deployments via verbal orders, the current in-charge DGP stated the matter would be examined.
