Two officials from the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) have alleged that Sikh gurdwaras in India have faced vigilante attacks in recent weeks. Commissioner David Anderson stated that these attacks included attempts to harm religious leaders and urged the U.S. government to press India for accountability. Commissioner Joe Grogan added that attacks on various places of worship, including gurdwaras, undermine religious freedom rights. USCIRF's recommendations are non-binding, and India has previously described the body as biased.
