Four individuals have been apprehended in Bhubaneswar for allegedly running a mule account network used by cyber fraudsters to steal crores of rupees nationwide. Police suspect the network has ties to Chinese operators and utilized cryptocurrency, VPNs, and mobile applications for illicit activities. The arrests followed an investigation into an online investment fraud where a victim lost over Rs 91 lakh. The accused allegedly recruited young people to open bank accounts for commissions, which were then used to receive and route scam proceeds.

भुवनेश्वर में चार लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया गया है, जिन पर कथित तौर पर साइबर ठगों द्वारा इस्तेमाल किए जाने वाले म्यूल अकाउंट नेटवर्क चलाने का आरोप है, जिससे देशभर में करोड़ों रुपये की ठगी हुई है। पुलिस को शक है कि इस नेटवर्क का चीनी ऑपरेटरों से संबंध है और इसने अवैध गतिविधियों के लिए क्रिप्टोकरेंसी, वीपीएन और मोबाइल एप्लिकेशन का इस्तेमाल किया। यह गिरफ्तारी ऑनलाइन निवेश धोखाधड़ी की जांच के बाद हुई, जिसमें एक पीड़ित ने 91 लाख रुपये से अधिक खो दिए थे। आरोपियों पर कथित तौर पर कमीशन के बदले बैंक खाते खोलने के लिए युवाओं की भर्ती करने का आरोप है, जिनका इस्तेमाल फिर घोटाले के पैसे प्राप्त करने और भेजने के लिए किया गया।
