Gem Chairman Veeramani Booked in 6th POCSO Case Over Abuse of Minor Girls

Gem Group of Companies chairman R Veeramani has been booked in his sixth case under the POCSO Act, 2012, according to the Special Investigation Team. The new case was registered based on complaints from two additional victims, bringing the total number of alleged victims to ten minor girls. Veeramani, along with aides Shanthi, Mahendra Simhan, and Kailash, were arrested after investigators recovered a pen drive containing alleged videos of abuse. Police have also arrested Veeramani's drivers for allegedly procuring minor girls and aiding the crimes.

स्पेशल इन्वेस्टिगेशन टीम के अनुसार, जेम ग्रुप ऑफ कंपनीज के चेयरमैन आर. वीरमणि पर POCSO एक्ट, 2012 के तहत छठा केस दर्ज किया गया है। यह नया केस दो और पीड़ितों की शिकायतों के आधार पर दर्ज किया गया है, जिससे कथित पीड़ितों की कुल संख्या दस नाबालिग लड़कियों तक पहुँच गई है। जांचकर्ताओं द्वारा कथित शोषण के वीडियो वाली एक पेन ड्राइव बरामद करने के बाद वीरमणि को सहयोगियों शांति, महेंद्र सिम्हन और कैलाश के साथ गिरफ्तार किया गया था। पुलिस ने नाबालिग लड़कियों की खरीद-फरोख्त और अपराधों में सहायता करने के आरोप में वीरमणि के ड्राइवरों को भी गिरफ्तार किया है।
