Amitabh Bachchan Must Appear In Person For Personality Rights Suit

The Delhi High Court has directed veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan to appear personally if he wishes to continue his lawsuit for personality rights protection. The court granted time until November 16 for settlement formalities with various entities. An ex parte injunction had previously protected Bachchan's rights in 2022 after he filed suit against mobile app developers and others using his name and image for lotteries and promotions without permission. The court noted potential irreparable loss and reputational harm.

दिल्ली हाई कोर्ट ने दिग्गज अभिनेता अमिताभ बच्चन को निर्देश दिया है कि यदि वे अपने व्यक्तित्व अधिकारों की सुरक्षा के लिए दायर मुकदमा जारी रखना चाहते हैं तो व्यक्तिगत रूप से पेश हों। कोर्ट ने विभिन्न संस्थाओं के साथ निपटान की औपचारिकताओं के लिए 16 नवंबर तक का समय दिया है। इससे पहले 2022 में, जब बच्चन ने मोबाइल ऐप डेवलपर्स और अन्य लोगों के खिलाफ अपने नाम और छवि का लॉटरी और प्रचार के लिए बिना अनुमति के इस्तेमाल करने पर मुकदमा दायर किया था, तब एकतरफा निषेधाज्ञा ने उनके अधिकारों की रक्षा की थी। कोर्ट ने संभावित अपूरणीय क्षति और प्रतिष्ठा को नुकसान की बात कही थी।
