Bengaluru Roads Gridlocked As Buses Crawl Out For Dasara Festivities
Times of India · india
Residents leaving Bengaluru for Dasara festivities faced severe traffic congestion on Friday night, with buses crawling and some passengers spending up to six hours on the road. Heavy rain exacerbated the situation, particularly on Tumakuru Road, where traffic eased only around 2:30 AM. An estimated 2,500 buses, significantly more than the usual 800-900, passed through the Yeshwantpur-Goraguntepalya stretch. Despite proposals for infrastructure improvements like widening roads and building bus shelters, progress has been minimal. Similar traffic jams were reported on Hosur Road.
