तमिलनाडु पुलिस ने पूर्व राज्य शिक्षा मंत्री अनबिल महेश को ₹100 करोड़ के कथित रिश्वत मामले में गिरफ्तार किया है। मद्रास हाई कोर्ट द्वारा अग्रिम जमानत याचिका खारिज करने के बाद यह गिरफ्तारी हुई। यह मामला एक एसोसिएशन अध्यक्ष और उनके सहयोगियों पर निजी स्कूलों से लगभग ₹100 करोड़ की वसूली के आरोपों से जुड़ा है। कथित तौर पर यह पैसा शिक्षण संस्थानों के लिए ज़रूरी अनापत्ति प्रमाण पत्र (NOC) और नवीनीकरण दिलाने के बहाने मांगा गया था। इस जांच का मकसद निजी स्कूलों की मंजूरी प्रक्रिया में भ्रष्टाचार की सीमा का पता लगाना है।
