South Korea to Invest Billions in AI and Semiconductors

South Korea plans a significant investment of nearly $16 billion in artificial intelligence and semiconductors as part of its record-breaking budget proposal for 2027. President Lee Jae Myung announced the allocation of 21.3 trillion won to boost AI, semiconductors, physical AI, and AI data centers. An additional 4.7 trillion won will support frontier AI development to create a world-leading national AI model.
