Mourners gathered in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo to bury Marie-Celestin Karondwa, a local politician who his party claims was beaten to death after defending the government's Ebola response on the radio. Karondwa was attacked at his home in Butembo, an Ebola hotspot, and died from his injuries. His party stated he was a victim for defending the government's position on the disease. The killing occurs amid ongoing attacks on health workers during the nation's deadliest Ebola outbreak, which has recorded over 8,000 cases.
