Goa Govt Proposes Two Mini Ro-Ro Ferries For Marcaim-Verna Route

The Goa government is considering a new roll-on/roll-off (Ro-Ro) ferry service to connect Marcaim with the Verna industrial estate. This proposal, driven by industry stakeholders and local representatives, aims to significantly reduce travel time and commuting costs for workers. The service will utilize two smaller 20-meter Ro-Ro vessels, each capable of carrying six cars. While the specific vessel type and propulsion technology are yet to be finalized, Austrian thruster technology is likely to be employed. Implementation is planned for the next financial year.
