India's Manufacturing PMI Slows in October Amidst Weaker Output and Orders Growth
Business Standard · business
India's private sector manufacturing activity expanded at a slower pace in October, with the PMI falling to 54.7 from 55.1 in September. While the index remained above the 50 mark, indicating continued expansion, both output and new orders saw weaker increases. Strong international demand boosted export orders to a six-month high, partially offsetting the slowdown in domestic business. Despite some cost pressures, input cost inflation eased to its lowest since February, and selling price increases were the weakest in nearly four years.
