A Central drought assessment team visited the KRS reservoir to gather information on Mandya district's rainfall deficit and water availability. The district has received only 173 mm of rain, 44% below normal, impacting agriculture and drinking water supplies. Officials highlighted the need to prioritize drinking water and judiciously manage available resources for the next eight months. Around 289 villages are vulnerable to drinking water shortages due to declining groundwater levels, with emergency measures being implemented.

मांड्या जिले में वर्षा की कमी और पानी की उपलब्धता के बारे में जानकारी जुटाने के लिए एक केंद्रीय सूखा आकलन दल ने केआरएस जलाशय का दौरा किया। जिले में सामान्य से 44% कम, केवल 173 मिमी वर्षा हुई है, जिससे कृषि और पेयजल आपूर्ति प्रभावित हुई है। अधिकारियों ने अगले आठ महीनों के लिए पेयजल को प्राथमिकता देने और उपलब्ध संसाधनों के विवेकपूर्ण प्रबंधन की आवश्यकता पर जोर दिया। भूजल स्तर में गिरावट के कारण लगभग 289 गाँव पेयजल की कमी के प्रति संवेदनशील हैं, और आपातकालीन उपाय लागू किए जा रहे हैं।
