Hospital, Doctors Fined Rs 5.1 Lakh For Wrong Blood Transfusion

A district consumer commission in Chhattisgarh has ordered a hospital and two doctors to pay Rs 5.1 lakh to a woman who received blood of the wrong group after an accident. The woman, identified as Madhu Khakha, had B-positive blood but was allegedly given AB-positive blood, causing her distress and risking her life. The hospital claimed her condition was unstable, but conflicting blood test reports led the commission to find negligence.

छत्तीसगढ़ के एक जिला उपभोक्ता आयोग ने एक अस्पताल और दो डॉक्टरों को दुर्घटना के बाद गलत ब्लड ग्रुप का खून चढ़ाने के मामले में एक महिला को 5.1 लाख रुपये का भुगतान करने का आदेश दिया है। मधु खाखा नामक महिला का ब्लड ग्रुप बी-पॉजिटिव था, लेकिन कथित तौर पर उसे एबी-पॉजिटिव ब्लड दिया गया, जिससे उसे परेशानी हुई और उसकी जान को खतरा हो गया। अस्पताल ने दावा किया कि उसकी हालत स्थिर नहीं थी, लेकिन खून की जांच रिपोर्टों में विरोधाभास के कारण आयोग ने लापरवाही पाई।
