Panchkula police are arresting numerous individuals who allow their bank accounts to be used for cyber fraud, but the masterminds behind these operations remain at large. Investigations reveal that most arrested individuals are 'mule' account holders, paid commissions to rent out their bank credentials. Cybercrime arrests in the district have significantly increased, reaching 465 in 2025 and 293 in the first half of 2026, primarily due to actions against mule accounts.
